Dwell Cloud started with a frustration a lot of people share. We've hired contractors for our own homes and watched the process go sideways — the callbacks that never came, the deposits handed over on faith, the scope that quietly ballooned, the invoices chased for weeks after the work was done.

We've also been on the other side. We've seen skilled, honest contractors pour money into lead services that sold the same phone number to five competitors, then spend their evenings chasing payment instead of resting after a long day on the tools. The people doing the actual work were getting squeezed from both ends.

Neither side was the villain. The system connecting them was just broken. Homeowners had no leverage over their own money. Contractors had no protection for their work. And the platforms in the middle made money whether or not anyone was happy.
